One of the most innovative tools to come out for some time is the Makita BTP140. Although compact in size, this thing packs 4 tools in 1 so you have less to carry around the job site. The Makita BTP140 is equipped with a 4-pole motor that delivers up to 1,240 in. lbs. of max torque. For the small size that this drill is, that's a ton of power. You're also getting 16 different clutch settings and 2 separate speed settings (0-700 RPM and 0-2,300 RPM)

The Optimum Charger allows a memory chip in the battery to communicate with a CPU chip in the charger to deliver the most efficient charge possible and make the batteries last longer. On average, these new Li-Ion batteries last 2.5 times longer than a standard battery.
You would think that because of the sheer power and features the Makita BTP140 provdes, it would be a bulky drill. Surprisingly though, it's very compact and weighs just 3.9 pounds and is only 7-3/8 inches in length. Comfort is very important while you're working and the ergonomic design of the BTP140 allow it to fit very nicely in your hand and reduce the chance of fatigue.
Two more really cool features of this drill are the built-in L.E.D. light and the phosphorescent bumper ring. The light helps you see in small, dark areas and the bumper ring glows in the dark so you don't have to worry about losing your drill because you can't see it.
As you can now see, the Makita BTP140 is really an awesome tool to have. It's 4 tools in 1 which means you don't have to carry as much around the job, it delivers tons of power but is still compact in size, and the Lithium-Ion battery technology is unsurpassed by any other drills on the market. Balanced Design and Easy Bit Changes
This drill/driver's Durashield housing is constructed with ABS/nylon composite, which makes the housing flexible on impact. Unlike competitive tools, which use a conventional plastic housing, Durashield will not crack and can easily withstand 10-foot drops.
The ergonomically designed handle and soft-grip wrapped housing offer a comfortable fit for extended working time. The DDS180-02 comes complete with a single-sleeve 1/2-inch auto-lock chuck for one-handed bit changes, as well as increased drill-bit capacity for versatility. And for even greater convenience, LEDs provide illumination when you are working in dark or enclosed areas.
Flexible Power System
Like all tools in Bosch's 18-volt line, this drill/driver can be used with either a 1.3 Ah Slim Pack battery (model BAT609), a 2.6-Ah Fat Pack battery (model BAT618), or a 3.0 Ah Fat Pack HC batter (model BAT619G). If you're looking for a lightweight option, the Slim Pack is the perfect choice. If longer runtime is what you need, the Fat Pack will do the job.
